The Guido d’Arezzo Polyphonic Competition is a choral singing competition first held in 1952. The competition is named after Guido Monaco, a famous citizen of Arezzo and the father of modern musical notation, still used today. The Guido d’Arezzo International Polyphonic Competition is held annually in August and is the most important stage for choral expression in the world.
